Gut feelings

Do you ever have gut feelings?  That spider sense that goes off and tells you that something’s just not quite right?  You can’t put your finger on it and you can’t really explain it, you just know.  I think we’ve got out of the habit of trusting those feelings.  We’ve become a nation of scientists!  If we can’t prove it, explain it, describe it then it doesn’t have the same credibility.  Now, please don’t misunderstand, I’m a HUGE fan of science and a HUGE fan of logic.  I take a lot of comfort from understanding things in that way.  BUT surely there’s room for both?  I think we’re conditioned as we grow up into not trusting those feelings.
